Samsung Galaxy Alpha to make AT&T a bit more metal on September 26
Samsung didn’t make any US launch announcements when it revealed the Galaxy Alpha last month, but today that issue has been remedied by AT&T.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will officially hit AT&T’s shelves on September 26. The device will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White and Frosted Gold color options. As far as pricing goes, you can expect to pony up $199.99 with a 2-year contract, 24 monthly payments of $25.55 each with AT&T Next 18 or 20 monthly payments of $30.65 each with AT&T Next 12. Customers that’d prefer to avoid a commitment will pay $612.99 for the Alpha.
If you’re curious as to what all of those dollars will get you, I’m happy to fill you in:
- 4.7-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display
- 2.5GHz quad-core processor
- 12-megapixel rear, 2.1 megapixel front cameras
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB of storage
- 4G LTE
- 1860mAh battery
- Android 4.4.4
- Custom Samsung software like Ultra Power Saving Mode, Download Booster and Private Mode
Even though we now know that the US will be getting a taste of Samsung’s metal design with the launch of the Galaxy Note 4, it’s nice to see that the Galaxy Alpha is headed stateside as well. That’ll give folks that prefer “smaller” phones a chance to see what this metal craziness is about, too.
