Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a licensed Hunger Games, uh, game, a Portal-style first person puzzler, a classic take on a casual favorite, and a stylish 2D puzzle game. without further ado:

Hunger Games: Panem Run

In case you hadn't heard, the second Hunger Games movie comes out tomorrow. A Temple Run clone isn't the worst movie tie-in I've seen lately - that dubious distinction goes to the Hunger Games Subway sandwich - but it's safe to say that this is for fans only. Even so, graphics are passable and it's more than just running and jumping: you'll use Katniss' bow and arrow skills for extra points, and you can unlock alternate characters.

Polarity

The Portal influence in Polarity is hard to deny, but this first-person puzzle game has another interesting pedigree. It's a mobile version of a game originally intended for the Oculus Rift, so immersion is a definite goal. Those who enjoy physics puzzles and perspective shifts should be right at home, but if you're looking for complex scenery or twitchy action gameplay, you'd best look somewhere else.

Mojang has announced that the company has decided to open up the Minecraft: Pocket Edition beta program to everyone today. While this new beta program is open to everyone to join, it doesn't mean that you'll be immediately accepted into the program. If you do manage to get into the beta program, there are a few thing you'll need to know. The Minecraft: Pocket Edtion beta program is just as the name suggests, a group for beta testing features that are currently being developed. These could be things that are definitely planned to arrive at some point in a future update as well as features that may or may not actually make it into Minecraft: Pocket Edition. One thing is for certain though, it sounds like a good amount of fun even though you'll be required to provide feedback and report bugs. New inventory screen and minecarts/tracks in 0.8.0 update If you get accepted into the program, you will be given a different version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition to play with. However, to qualify to apply for the beta program, you are required to own a copy of the full game. When in the beta, anything you create will be compatible with the final version of the game when it's released. If you leave the beta before the final release, you'll need to uninstall the beta copy and re-install the official version currently on Google Play. For those of you interested in applying to the beta program, you just need to request access to the Minecraft: Pocket Edition beta tester group on Google+. If you're approved access, there will be additional instructions you'll need to follow in order to get you set up. We've applied and are waiting for our approval right now so hopefully we will see you all in the beta program! Game of Thrones fans may have something pretty cool to look forward to if the current rumor going around is actually true. According to IGN, some very reliable sources have confirmed that TellTale Games is working on a Game of Thrones title. As for what the game will actually be called, it could end up being titles around the series of book the show is based off of or it could end up being just the Game of Throne like the show is called. There isn't a ton of information regarding this upcoming game, just that the company is apparently making one. When asked about whether or not the company is making Steve Allison, Senior VP of Publishing had the usual answer most companies give when talking about a rumor: We get these sorts of rumors about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time. Officially we have no comment. As for platforms that this game will be released on, we can safely guess that it'll arrive onto mobile devices. TellTale Games has already released a good amount of big IP games onto iOS and plans for upcoming Android games as well like The Walking Dead for Ouya which is due out this Winter. There's a new fighting game out for Android gamers to test their skills in when it comes to beating the crap out of their opponents. This is a well-known franchise that has seen both console and arcade versions of it released over the past decade and now it has moved onto Android as well. Namco Bandai finally decided to bring Soul Calibur to Android and if you follow fighting games at all then you should already know a lot about this franchise since it is one of the more popular ones out there in this genre. It even has its own section in the EVO eSports tournaments. This release is the original Soul Calibur game and comes with the full 19 character roster to play as. Soul Calibur Features: - 5 Different game modes: Arcade Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Museum and Practice - 19 character roster! - All character moves faithfully recreated! - A new virtual game pad that has been fine-tuned specifically for fighting games. Namco took the controls into serious consideration which is good thing considering most people who are going to be playing this game will have played some of the other versions of Soul Calibur as well. The button setup in this Android version is just like it was in the arcades. For those of you interested in picking up Soul Calibur, you can do so off of Google Play for $6.67. Back in September of this year Zeptolabs officially made Cut The Rope 2 a thing, announcing that the sequel would be arriving onto the shores of Android and iOS this holiday season. Well that season is quickly approaching and to build up the hype machine for Cut The Rope 2, Zeptolabs has released a bit of a teaser trailer for their upcoming game. For those of you not familiar with this franchise, Cut The Rope and its spin-offs are physics-based puzzle games featuring a little monster called Om Nom who happens loves candy and it is your job to get the candy to him in each stage. These games get challenging quickly, especially if you are trying to get a 3-star rating on each stage. The upcoming sequel will apparently have plenty of new game mechanics that players will have to master in order to not only get through each stage but to also get those 3-star ratings as well. There will also be a brand new storyline for Cut The Rope 2 as well as interactive environments to deal with. The teaser trailer doesn't show a whole lot of anything about the game itself but it is entertaining. There's still no word on exactly when Cut The Rope 2 will launch. Recently we talked about the upcoming Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.8.0 update and some of the confirmed new features and bug fixes that would be coming with it when the update actually arrives in the near future. All of the features and bug fixes we talked about in our last article are still confirmed for the 0.8.0 update but new goodies have been added to the list as well. One feature that will actually be exclusive to Minecraft: Pocket Edition is the addition of being able to farm Beets. You will be able to farm these just as you would anything else that you can plant and can be used for the creation of soups and dye. Beets... Yummy! Other additions that this update will bring includes sideways logs, Haybales, Clocks and Jack O' Lanterns (pumpkins and pimpkin pie confirmed in last article). One thing people have wanted for awhile now is breeding animals and apparently this too is now confirmed as arriving with the 0.8.0 update. Lastly, Compasses will also be available in-game once this patch arrives. We've talked a few times already about the hardcore farming simulator that is making its way to Android in the near future called Farm Simulator 14 and now it looks like we finally get to take a peek at how this game will look on mobile devices. This is thanks to a new trailer that the company behind the game has released. For those of you unfamiliar with this game, Farm Simulator 14 is a hardcore farming simulator has players doing a multitude of activities included things like sowing seeds with your tractor, growing your crops and eventually harvesting them, selling those crops for money and so on. You'll have plenty of tractors and other farm equipment at your disposal as well. In fact this installment into the series features almost double the amount of equipment available for use over its older brethren. Another interesting feature about this game is that there will actually be multiplayer. It will be an open world multiplayer where you and your friends can play together through Wifi or local Bluetooth. Farm Simulator 14 is still slated for release next week on November 18th, 2013. Gameloft has released their latest game onto the Play Store, GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience. It promises to deliver the most detailed and realistic racing experience on an Android device, whether in single player or multiplayer. It features 67 licensed cars across 13 tracks, 1,400 events to take part in and 28 new challenges each week. As far as actual gameplay goes, GT Racing offers dynamic weather effects during races, four different camera angles, and Gameloft is proudly boasting that there are no wait times for vehicle repairs, so you’ll never have to wait jump into a race or event.

A 90's style RPG that has been in development for awhile now, originally planned for a Fall 2013 launch, has had its release date pushed back until sometime early next year. Survival Horror Story: Catequesis by Baroque Decay & Curved Cat Games isn't being delayed because of problems arising from the game's development though but because the company is shooting for a release of the game onto PC first before bringing it to mobile devices instead. Baroque Decay & Curved Cat Games wants to make sure that all versions of the game are polished and well done, working properly on each platform it is released. So instead of splitting their time between each platform all at once, they will be concentrating on each platform individually, finishing the PC version first before moving onto the mobile one. For those of you not familiar with this game, Survival Horror Story: Catequesis is about a family who tries to do some special religious rite in order to cure your character's girlfriend's dad but things go horribly wrong, strange monsters take control of the building you're in and you have to figure out a way to not only survive but to get rid of these monsters for good. The game features the retro style visuals you would find in RPGs from back in the early 90s but with more modern game mechanics and puzzles to solve. Right now there is no exact release date for the mobile version, only that it will be sometime in 2014 and will be priced around $1 when its released. Until then, enjoy the new teaser trailer. Gameloft's Dungeon Hunter 4 game has just been updated with a new feature called Blood Match. This new feature is actually going to be an ongoing weekly series of tournaments for anyone to compete in and show off their body hacking skills. Blood Match puts you into an arena with endless waves of enemies that you'll need to hack up and kill. The faster you kill them, the more you're able to kill before the timer runs out. As you kill your enemies you will need to collect their blood in vials and the more vials you fill the higher up on the leaderboard you'll be placed. So why bother competing in Blood Match tournaments? Because there are plenty of prizes to be won including exclusive gear and charms that can only be gotten by competing and winning in these Blood Match tournaments. 11 Bit Studios has been teasing their upcoming official sequel to their Anomaly franchise called Anomaly 2. iOS users managed to get the game a few weeks before us Android gamers but our wait is finally over as the company has gone ahead and launched Anomaly 2 onto Google Play this morning. For those of you who missed our previous coverage and early hands-on about Anomaly 2, this is the newest installment into 11 Bit Studios tower offense series of games. Instead of being a tower defense game, where you would normally be setting up towers and other defensive units to stop your enemy, in the Anomaly franchise you actually play as the offensive units instead.

Sega has released the newest addition to their football management franchise called Football Manager Handheld 2014 onto Google Play this morning. For those of you who are not familiar with this game, this is a pretty realistic football management sim game where you'll be managing your favorite team and all the players on it. You will have all the duties of a team manager to contend with including player transfers, different tactics your team will be using in matches and even follow the games live as they play out making tactical changes and substitutions during each match.
