Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 LTE out in Asia, spotted on Thai website
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 was advertised by a Malaysian retailer last month and the new Android smartphone is now available in Asia with a $400 price tag. The Korean tech giant has recently listed the phone on its Thai website.
The phone has been available for some time but Samsung has listed the phone on its official website for the world to see its official images and list of specs and features over the weekend. The phone replaces the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 released last year—making it a another possible bestseller from Samsung.
Samsung’s newest Galaxy Mega 2 boasts of a massive 6-inch display, 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 1.5GB RAM, quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p video recording capability, 16GB of built-in storage, memory card slot, and LTE connectivity. Out of the box, the phone runs Android KitKat.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is larger than a Galaxy Note 4 so this could directly rival the newly introduced iPhone 6 Plus. Samsung and Android have been in the phablet game the past years already so it’s interesting how their phones will fare with the entrance of the iPhone 6 Plus. But then again, is there really a need to compare?
Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is now out in Asia. No word when the phone will roll out in Europe and North America though.
