Samsung leaks the Galaxy Watch ahead of schedule

Sometime soon, Samsung is going to announce a new smartwatch that has seen plenty of drama regarding its namesake and operating system.

If you’ll recall, back at the start of this month there was a rumor circulating that the next smartwatch from Samsung would be called the Galaxy Watch — not the Gear S4 — and that it would be running Google’s Wear OS and not Samsung’s Tizen OS. But then last week, we heard that the smartwatch would actually be running Tizen OS after all, but that Samsung was indeed planning on going with the Galaxy Watch branding despite not adopting an Android-based OS for its wearable.

There hasn’t really been any reason to think the Galaxy Watch wasn’t the real deal, but now we have a confirmation of sorts that the smartwatch is on the way. Samsung itself leaked the upcoming device on its website, essentially telling the world the wearable is on the way. The company listed the device for a very short period of time before realizing the fault and pulling it.

For that brief period of time, you could see the Rose Gold variant of the upcoming Galaxy Watch in all its glory. It will come in a 42mm size when it launches, but it’s likely there will be more than one size option. For those curious, the device’s model number on the listing is SM-R810NZDAXAR.

There wasn’t any information regarding specs, so no confirmation just yet that we’ll see Tizen OS on the smartwatch. Nothing to go on pricing, yet, either. That means Samsung still has plenty to announce whenever they get around to it.

Are you looking forward to the Galaxy Watch?
