You can now ask Google Assistant about specific news topics

Google continues to pump new life into Google Assistant, the company’s digital personal assistant.

The latest update for the feature that is expanding across devices is the ability to ask Assistant about a specific topic of news. That’s what the company has officially announced, explaining that users simply need to say something like, “Hey Google, what’s the latest Star Wars news?” or something like “Hey Google, what’s the latest bitcoin news?”

After the query has been fielded by the digital assistant, you will get excerpts presented to you in Google Home. And if you ask the question while using a smart display, you’ll get relevant YouTube videos to hopefully give you what you’re looking for.

Google says this particular feature is only available in the United States on Android phones in the United States. It will be expanding to Google Assistant-equipped headphones and Android Auto in the near future.

What do you think of this latest feature addition?
