Moto E5 Play and E5 Plus may launch on T-Mobile this month

It has been over three months since Motorola officially announced its newest series of Moto E smartphones, and now it looks like two of them are heading to T-Mobile in the United States.

According support documents on T-Mobile’s website, both the Moto E5 Play and the Moto E5 Plus are slated to launch on T-Mobile’s network on Friday, July 27. The documentation reveals that both handsets are set to receive their “launch software version” on that date, suggesting both handsets will go live this Friday.

At the time of publication, T-Mobile has not actually announced these phones, so keep that in mind.

The Moto E5 Play features a 5.2-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. It has a fingerprint reader, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2800mAh battery. It’s running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Meanwhile, the Moto E5 Plus (pictured just above) boast a six-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. There is a 12-megapixel camera on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera on the other side. The battery measures in at 5000mAh, it’s running Android 8.0 Oreo, and there is a fingerprint reader on board, too.

T-Mobile’s newest smartphones will support the LTE Band 71, or 600MHz. T-Mobile says 600MHz means its LTE can reach further than the competition’s, and has better performance when customers are using their devices in buildings.

No word on what the Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus will cost when they do launch, but it’s likely they won’t require too much of your hard-earned cash if you do plan on picking one up.
