Xiaomi unveils Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite with Android One

Xiaomi introduced the Mi A1 with Android One on board in September of last year, and now the company is back with the Mi A2 and its cheaper Mi A2 Lite variant. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is a mid-range handset that offers some worthwhile specs, while the Mi A2 Lite is going to be the cheaper of the pair, even as it scales back some of the features.

For those who want a bit more punch for their cash, the Mi A2 offers a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1080. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood and comes in a few different variants. The Mi A2 comes with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, or you can go with the model that boasts 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

There are two cameras on the back, one being a 12MP sensor and the other a 20MP camera. There is a 20MP front-facing camera on the other side, a 3000mAh battery inside, and a USB-C port on the bottom. There isn’t a 3.5mm headphone jack, though, so be aware of that. There is Android One on board, so there should be a minimal amount of bloatware, and there won’t be any skins on there, either.

The Mi A2 will cost €249 (about $291) for the variant with 4GB of RAM, or €349 (about $408) for the handset with 6GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, the Mi A2 Lite has a 5.84-inch FHD+ display, a Snapdragon 645 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. It has a 4000mAh battery, a pair of cameras on the back (12MP and 5MP), and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is running Android One, too. When it goes on sale, it’ll cost €229 (about $271).

Both handsets will be available in Europe (Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine), and will also be sold in Hong Kong, India, Colombia, Mexico, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and others.
