LG G7 specs leak along with new renders

During Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the LG G7 managed to find its way in front of the camera, despite the Life’s Good crew not making any official announcements about the upcoming flagship handset.

At the time, there was plenty of speculation about LG’s plans, with some suggesting that the handset at MWC was an older model and that LG was planning on using a different design for the G6 follow-up. But if these new renders are any indication, it looks like LG is indeed going to go with that design, with the display notch and bottom chin included.

The latest leak comes from @OnLeaks and TheMrPhone. The new renders show what we’ve seen in the past: a smartphone with a glass front and glass back, a display flanked by minimized bezels, a fingerprint reader on the back, and a dual camera system on the back with a vertical design. The new renders also show a USB Type-C port on the bottom for charging as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack that appears to be sticking around for one more year.

The new report also comes with some information on specifications. The G7 will reportedly boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of 128GB of built-in storage. There’s no word yet on a microSD card slot. The G7 will feature a pair of 16-megapixel cameras on the back, but there’s no word on what the megapixel count will be for the front-facing shooter.

Interestingly enough, there is also a mystery button on the phone underneath the volume rocker. The publication stipulates that it could mean that LG is moving the power button to the side of the phone again, away from the back. Or this could be a hint that LG is including a dedicated button for its own digital personal assistant, similar to how Samsung has the Bixby Button on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9.
