Quench your need for speed in Breakneck by PikPok, now available for download

PikPok has done it again. They have released an extremely polished, fun and fast game to play. This title is quite different from Into the Dead, Flick Kick Football, or Rival Stars Basketball. Breakneck, their latest title available in the Google Play Store, is all about speed. The game has great controls, amazing graphics and a difficulty level that you shouldn't shy away from. Sorry, the game does not have a special appearance by Mila Kunis, though it looks like it should, based on the resemblance of the character model PikPok uses in their ad.

If you enjoy playing racing games in a space setting like Wipeout, or a more recent favorite of mine, Geometry Race, then you will really enjoy Breakneck. The game moves really fast, and initially you will die quite a bit, but it is worth it. The simple controls allow you to quickly take control of your ship, and propel yourself at Breakneck speeds throughout the changing environments. As Doctor Emmett Brown told Marty McFly in Back to the Future, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads."  No roads here ladies and gentlemen. You will be narrowly escaping crumbling and beautiful architecture, vaulting off ramps and collecting pick-ups along the way. Oh, and yes, you are being chased by someone very fearsome, but you never actually see them.

"Master your speeder and defeat your pursuers in high speed action across a world ravaged by an alien occupation. Fly at BREAKNECK speed as you pursue your mission and get as far as you can." - PikPok

Breakneck Features:

  • Thrilling action gameplay as you speed through a hostile world, building distance and collecting supplies.
  • Daily and weekly missions to test your abilities
  • Play and collect new kits to customize your speeder!
  • Awesome 3D graphics and environments depicting a ravaged post invasion landscape
  • Environment resets daily so there are always new paths and challenges to master
  • Weekly tournaments and leaderboards so you can compete against other survivors
  • Boosts and unlockable ship upgrades to help you tackle ever-evolving challenges
  • Phantom ships of last and best daily runs so you can race to beat your best score

There are no brakes in this game, because it is all about speed. The controls are simple. Tap the left side of your screen to move left and tap right to move right. That's easy enough, right? Be very cautious, you are moving so quickly in the game, a simple tap can easily be the destruction of your ship.

Your goal is to progress through each zone. You have to fly your ship just close enough to the obstacles in the environments to charge your boost. You hold both sides of the screen at the same time to initiate the boost. Without that boost, you aren't going to be able to evade your pursuers. This is part of what makes the game  fun and stressful at the same time. You have to get close enough to charge your ship, but so often that means you may crash and burn. This game looks so stunning, even the explosions are great to see.

Breakneck is free to play. As with all of the PikPok games I have played, the free to play structure is not intrusive. That of course is only my opinion. You can enjoy this one without dropping a dime. The only thing that can be a bit frustrating, is that the game is integrated with the Kip Rewards system, so you will be hitting the X button to close the ads. The only other nagging thing I have noticed is that as the game loads, just before you start the level, you get this white screen

Breakneck is integrated with Google Game Play Services with leaderboards and 37 achievements to unlock. If you enjoy racing games, there really isn't too much to question. It is a game from PikPok and it is a blast to play. If you have a higher end device  you will really appreciate the work that PikPok has put into the environments. I am thoroughly impressed. Download Breakneck today, but only if you are up to the challenge.
