Twist Your Wrist to Launch Apps on Your Moto X

ee7297vnm20135065741

Rather than having a dedicated physical camera button that you can hold down to quick launch the camera app, the Moto X comes with a gesture that instead requires you to twist your wrist twice in order to access the camera quickly. We’ve seen this feature before with apps like Magus, which offers a lot more customization. If you would rather not install a separate app and retain this native function, but with the added freedom of being able to choose which app to launch, Twisty Switch may be worth checking out.

Twisty Switch is an Xposed Module developed by XDA Senior Member dymmeh that allows you to change which app gets launched on your Moto X every time you twist your wrist twice. In addition, the module enables you to toggle vibration upon launch. As of right now, only apps that are visible in your launcher’s app drawer can be launched. It should also be noted that launching an app this way will bypass your lock screen, but dymmeh is working on providing an option to disable this in the future.

Dymmeh is open to suggestions and ideas on new features and functions of Twisty Switch, so if you feel like there’s something missing, or if you want to check it out yourself, head over to the module thread to get started.
