Verizon expands XLTE service to 13 new markets

Verizon officially announced the rollout of its XLTE service back in May of 2014. The improved LTE coverage only saw a small rollout, but since then the big red carrier has been rolling out XLTE to new markets.

That includes an announcement from Verizon today, which says that XLTE now covers 13 additional markets in the United States. Cities like Roseburg, Oregon; Victoria, Texas; Wateverille/Augusta, Maine; and others are now officially supported.

Here’s the full list:

  • Alpena, MI
  • Ironwood, MI
  • Lewiston-Auburn, ME
  • McCook, NE
  • Oneonta, NY
  • Petoskey, MI
  • Pottsville-Frackville, PA
  • Roseburg, OR
  • Tupelo-Corinth, MS
  • Vicksburg, MS
  • Victoria, TX
  • Waterville/Augusta, ME
  • Wausau/Rhinelander, WI

With this latest expansion, Verizon’s XLTE service now supports 466 markets in the United States. And for those that need a refresher, XLTE allows Verizon subscribers to access the 700MHz and AWS spectrums, as long as they have compatible devices that support the faster network. Supported devices range, but they include the HTC 10, LG’s G5, and Samsung’s Galaxy S7.
