Google posts Android Security Bulletin for May, releases security update for Nexus devices

It’s that time of month again, where Google releases its monthly security update for the Nexus devices. The company also posted the Android Security Bulletin for the month of May, describing the current security vulnerabilities that the updates fix.

Unfortunately, non-Nexus devices are likely vulnerable to all of these problems and will have to be updated. Manufacturers were notified a month ago, but some devices don’t receive frequent updates to fix such issues. And though it’s unlikely that anything will actually happen, having this many “critical” vulnerabilities is a bit scary.

If you have a Nexus device, be sure to check for updates. If you have a late model flagship, you should get a security update eventually, as many companies now release monthly or near-monthly security updates for flagships.
