Acer Liquid Zest Plus is now official with a 5000mAh battery

Acer hosted an event today in New York City, where it spent the majority of the time showing off a variety of new personal computers. However, within the PC craziness, Acer also had an Android smartphone on hand to check out.

Acer is calling their new smartphone the Liquid Zest Plus. The smartphone with probably this year’s strangest name features a 5.5-inch display and what Acer calls a “tri-focus” camera on the back, which boasts a 13-megapixel shooter. That tri-focus camera means there’s three different autofocus systems: contact detection, phase detection, and laser.

The big takeaway from the Liquid Zest Plus, though, is its battery. Acer’s managed to shove a 5,000mAh battery in there. Compare that to the 3,600mAh battery in Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge, or the 2,800mAh in LG’s G5. It’s a big battery to be sure.

As far as a release date, Acer doesn’t have one yet. However, when it does launch it’s expected to go for less than $250, so that’s something. There’s no word on whether or not the Liquid Zest Plus is soap-proof.
