Sonic Team will be bringing Sonic Runners to smartphones next year

While we can expect a few Sonic the Hedgehog themed games heading to mobile throughout the 2015 year, we do know of one already that is in the works called Sonic Runners which will be coming from Sonic Team. The game was formally announced by Sega producer Takashi Iizuka at a recent Sonic fan event in Tokyo.

There isn't a whole lot of details about this game as of yet. In fact there isn't much more to tell at this point beside the platform which the game will be on, which is smartphones, the 2015 time frame for its release, and the actual name of the game, that being Sonic Runners. There wasn't even confirmation that this would even be hitting the shores of the West, although it is fairly probable.

However we do know that more details will be released next month (January 2015) so when that happens we will be sure to post an update.
