Samsung Galaxy S10 may be announced on February 20

Getting excited for the Samsung Galaxy S10 following the recent image and render leaks? If so, we’ve got some good news for you, because we may now know the date on which Samsung will officially announce its next flagship smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be announced at an Unpacked event on February 20. That’s according to “a source at a major tech retailer” who spoke to Gizmodo U.K. The source added that pre-orders for the S10 will start that same day and that the phone will launch on March 8.

You’re now probably wondering how much you’ll have to pony up for Samsung’s next big thing. Well according to today’s report, the lower-cost Galaxy S10 with a flat display will cost £669 ($844 USD) with 128GB of storage. The regular S10 with 128GB of storage will allegedly cost £799 ($1,008 USD) while a 512GB model will set you back £999 ($1,261 USD). And then there’s the top-end Galaxy S10+, which is expected to cost £899 ($1,135 USD) for the 128GB version, £1099 ($1,387 USD) for the 512GB model, and a whopping £1399 ($1,766 USD) for the 1TB variant.

It’s worth noting that while this pricing may be accurate for the U.K., converting the price into your own currency won’t necessarily give you the cost for your own country. The 128GB Galaxy S9+ is £869 in the U.K. and $889 in the U.S., so don’t be surprised if the pricing looks more like that when the Galaxy S10 is announced.

Getting back to the announcement, today’s report says that Samsung is working on three versions of the Galaxy S10. These include a “flat version” that’s expected to have a 5.8-inch screen, the standard Galaxy S10 with a 6.1-inch display, and the Galaxy S10+ with a 6.4-inch screen. The report also mentions that Samsung will give the Galaxy S10 a feature called PowerShare that’ll let you wirelessly charge another device.

We’ve previously heard that Samsung could announce the Galaxy S10 in February 2019, and today’s report backs that claim up. Plus, we saw Samsung announce the Galaxy S9 in late February last year, so the timing would certainly line up. And hey, that means that we’re only about two months from meeting the Galaxy S10 lineup and their hole-punch notch.
