Google Maps For You section expands to over 130 new countries
In May of this year, Google officially introduced a new section within Google Maps called “For You”. This was meant to be a far more personalized look at the world around you.
Since then, the feature has tilted even more towards a social media angle, allowing Google Maps users to actually follow businesses to keep up-to-date on what they are doing. Broadly speaking, the For You section is meant to show you not only what’s going on with the businesses and locations you already like, but also show you recommendations based on your experiences for new places to check out. It’s a nice way to keep up on what’s going on in your neck of the woods and also learn about new places you might like when you’re on vacation.
Today, Google has announced that the For You section on Android is now supported in over 130 new countries around the globe. The announcement doesn’t exactly break down the new spots you can find For You support, but with over 130 new destinations, it should cover all the heavily trafficked areas by now.
For You is now available on iOS devices, too. Google says the feature is launching on supported Apple products in over 40 countries across the globe.
Have you tried out the For You section in Google Maps? If so, what do you think of it?
