Google Assistant is getting notes and lists
It’s been a long time coming, but Google is finally rolling out support for notes and lists via the Google Assistant. The search giant has been promising the features for months, but users are reporting that it’s starting to roll out now, albeit with one big exception. While users can create notes and lists, they exist separately from Google Keep for the time being. Google has stated that Keep integration is on the way, but it hasn’t quite made it out yet.
For notes, you can ask the Assistant to “take a note” and Google will ask you what the note is, at which point you can dictate it. To review past notes, you can ask “what are my notes” or say “show me my notes.” While you can create and review notes through both phones and Google Home devices, you will need to be on your phone to edit existing notes. From the phone menu, you can also manually add notes.
For lists, you can say “make a list,” after which you can name the list and add multiple items. Naming lists is important, as you’ll often need to specify which list you’re referring to when you ask to add a new item. Reviewing lists is the same as reviewing notes, just say “what are my notes?” Like notes, you’ll be able to create lists and add items through both phones and Home devices, but you’ll need to use your phone to edit existing lists.
One note is that you won’t be able to access notes and lists through the Assistant’s settings menu. This may be changed later on, but for now you’ll have to rely on commands.
Are you excited to be able to add notes and create lists through the Google Assistant?
