Dodocool 20,100mAh 45W Power Delivery battery bank review
USB Power Delivery is the latest “standard” of quick charging. However, this specification comes directly from the USB-IF and many of the big players are using it instead of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge. This applies to the Google Pixel lineup, the Essential Phone, the Nintendo Switch (roughly), and many others.
Sometimes you just need an extra big battery to top off your travel accessories. 20,100mAh might seem excessive, but it becomes quite useful when you’re in a pickle.

The Dodocool 20,100mAh 45W Power Delivery battery bank feature three charging ports. The first is the input/output USB-C port that’s capable of Power Delivery. You use this port both to charge the battery bank as well as charge your favorite device via a USB-C to USB-C cable. Of course, your cable will have to support fast charging.
The other two ports are AIQ ports capable of 2.4A each for charging regular devices. The button near the ports turns on the device, showing the battery level with four white LEDs. Each LED accounts for more than a smartphone’s full charge so it’s not very accurate, but when you have this much capacity, it doesn’t really matter.
The device comes with a short USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a standard microUSB cable.
Build quality
This battery bank is built like a brick, both in quality and weight. The outside is all metal aside from the ends, which are thick and solid-feeling plastic. There’s nary a flex nor creak coming from this behemoth. Thanks to all the internal cells, the thing weighs a little over a pound. You pay the price for that massive capacity.
Charging
The USB-C port on this power bank supports charging up to 45 watts, which is crazy. Not only is it more than powerful enough to charge your phone (the Pixel 3 takes up to 18W while the Essential Phone takes up to 27W) or your Switch, but it can even charge laptops that draw below 45W. This is the case with the MacBook and MacBook Air, though the 13-inch MacBook Pro stock charger is a beefy 61W unit. Frankly, the capability to charge laptops from a power bank is awesome.
From my extensive use, this battery bank charges devices just as fast as a stock charger. Even with the Nintendo Switch, the charging speed kept the device at 100% even when playing intense games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you own a Switch, this is an invaluable companion as power banks without USB-C Power Delivery usually can’t sustain a charge when playing graphically intense games.
A great feature is that this power bank turns itself on when a device is connected. You don’t have to hit the button to start charging which is unique and definitely useful.
The availability of three ports is also very useful, as all of them work simultaneously. I traveled out of the country and forgot a 240V to 120V converter. For the three day duration of my stay, I used this power bank to charge my phone, tablet, and smartwatch from all three USB ports. It had plenty of juice to handle all of that.
Charging this thing is a bit of a predicament, as you need a powerful charger to do it quickly. Filling 20,100mAh is no trivial matter. A standard charger will take 30 hours to do so! I used the Dodocool 45W Power Delivery charger. It’s a bulky wall wart compared to what you get with your phone, but it provides 45 watts, so you can charge laptops from it as well. Using this will charge the battery bank in three hours.
If you travel a lot and you use devices that utilize the USB Power Delivery specification, this is a no brainer. It’s big and heavy but so useful for long trips. Whether you’re out of the country, camping, or simply want to put hours and hours into your Switch on the go, this battery bank is worth the money.
