Record 4K60 video on your Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 without root

Recording 4K video at 60 FPS is a pretty recent feature. The current generation of flagships allow you to record 4K60 video at the cost of massive amounts of storage, but last gen devices didn’t get this functionality.

Many processors like the Snapdragon 835 were simply incapable of supporting 4K60 video capture, but the last gen Exynos 8895 was. However, Samsung disabled this functionality on devices rocking the chipset to equalize the Exynos and Snapdragon models. It would be pretty unfair if one region had extra features thanks to the different processor.

Thankfully a developer has managed to enable this feature on the Exynos Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 without root! You’ll have to download a certain camera APK, install it, and edit the camera script with a custom one. Then you’ll be able to do what modern flagships are toting as new. You’ll also want to change the bitrate for better quality.
