OnePlus and Google launch ‘Crackables’ puzzle game
Do you like puzzles? How about puzzles that can potentially take days to solve and start with a software element before transitioning into a hardware one? If this fits the bill, OnePlus and Google have something special for you.
They’re calling it Crackables, and it’s a puzzle game that you can play right on your mobile device. It’s available via a dedicated site — https://crackables.oneplus.com — and the software side of things is just the beginning. The “software round” starts on Tuesday, September 18 at 5:00am PST/8:00am EST. It will last for three days, during which time players will have to solve three separate puzzles to move on.
Once that round ends and OnePlus chooses the 1,000 winners, the “hardware round” will begin on Tuesday, September 25 at 5:00am PST/8:00am EST, and will last until September 28 at 11:59 PM EST. OnePlus says it will contact the winner after the hardware round ends, of which there will be only one.
There are some exclusions to be aware of:
“The Crackables software round will be open to everyone to play on their mobile devices (excluding Sudan, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Cuba, the Crimea region, or any other countries/regions which may be subject to export controls or sanctions). Due to the time-sensitive nature of the Hardware Round, some countries may be excluded from advancing if we are unable to deliver the devices in a timely manner.“
As far as what the winner gets? OnePlus says it is “The Ultimate Gaming Set Up. This set up comes with an IWR1 IMPERATORWORKS Gaming Chair, 2 LG 42.5 Monitors and a Xidax PC – Perfect for players and creators of all kinds.”
It’s certainly an interesting idea, to be sure. What do you think of the grand prize? Worth the effort? Do you think you’ll play Crackables?
