Google Pay adds support for paying friends, storing concert and boarding passes, and more

Google unveiled its new branding for its mobile payment service earlier this year, showcasing Google Pay as the combination of Android Pay and Google Wallet. Since then, the company has been adding features to make the service even better for Android users.

Today Google announced new additions to Google Pay. Some of them saw the light of day earlier this year, but now Google is finally rolling the features out to a wider audience.

First up, the ability to send money to your friends through Google Pay. Google is bringing the Google Pay Send app into the Google Pay app, which means users will be able to send or request money from within Google Pay directly. This feature is apparently only available in the United States for now.

Next, support for storing event tickets and boarding passes within the app. You can now save tickets from services like Ticketmaster and Southwest Airlines, and other services like Singapore Airlines and Eventbrite will be supported in the near future.

And finally, Google has launched a dedicated page for Google Pay users to keep tabs on their account. Just head to pay.google.com, where everything is synced with your Google Account. It’s a quick and easy way to see your stored cards, and make changes when you need to.
