Amazon offering discounts on Fire 7 and Fire HD 10 tablets

Amazon is kicking the week off with some nice deals on its Android-powered Fire tablets.

The Amazon Fire 7 tablet is now on sale starting at $34.99 for Prime members. The discounts apply to both the 8GB and 16GB models, but keep in mind that both versions have a microSD slot so that you can add more storage if you need it. Both tablets are available in black, yellow, blue, and red color options.

Amazon’s Fire 7 tablet features specs like a 7-inch 1024×600 display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, and 2MP rear and VGA front cameras. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and integrated speaker in there, too, along with a battery that Amazon says will last for up to eight hours of mixed usage. While it’s not the most high-end Android tablet around, the Amazon Fire 7 is a nice option because it’s got a small size to make it portable and an affordable price tag. Now it’s even more affordable than normal, making this a great time to pick one up if you want a low-cost tablet for watching video around the house or on the go or just a cheap screen for browsing the web on your couch.

This model has a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 screen, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 32GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot. It’s also got a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual stereo speakers, and its battery is rated to last up to 10 hours of mixed usage.
