Samsung halts the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+

Samsung isn’t all that quick with updates, but plenty of people were thrilled about finally getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update on their Galaxy S8 and S8+. The update came with features like picture-in-picture and autofill as well as a new version of Samsung Experience.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a major problem with the update. The problem itself is unknown, but Samsung has halted the update from further rolling out. The company is working on a new build of Oreo for the devices, but there is no ETA for the new build.

If you have already received the update, there should be nothing to worry about. If you haven’t, you’ll have to wait for the new build to come. It’s unfortunate that not everyone received the update after an already long wait, but a finished and stable build is better than an early release. Let us know if you encounter any bugs!
