Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ now receiving Android 8.0 Oreo

The wait for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners to finally receive the Android 8..0 Oreo update has finally ended — if you live in Germany.

Today marks the first day that Samsung has officially begun rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners, but at least for now, it is only available in Germany. If you happen to have an S8 and live in Germany, keep an eye out, as this is an over-the-air (OTA) update and it may take some time to pop up on your handset.

The update itself measures in at 487.04MB. With it, you will get the standard Android 8.0 Oreo features, including notification dots on app icons, picture-in-picture support, and more. The update includes the February 2018 Android security patches as well.

While it might be somewhat disappointing for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners not in Germany, there is a silver lining here: Samsung has at least finalized this particular build, and it should be ready to roll out in other international markets soon.

Are you excited to get Android 8.0 Oreo on your Galaxy S8?
