Essential Phone now receiving February 2018 security patches

Google is committed to releasing security patches for Android on a monthly basis, and some smartphone manufacturers are doing their best to make sure their devices stay as up-to-date as possible.

Essential is one such company, and it has just announced that it is now rolling out the February 2018 security patches for the Essential Phone. Essential confirmed that the software update is version NMK24B and that the new software is rolling out beginning today. It’s an over-the-air update, though, so it may take some time before it arrives on every Essential Phone out in the wild.

Google technically launched two patches in February, one dated on the first of the month and the other dated on the fifth of the month. Both are meant to address both major and minor vulnerabilities in the software.

If you have an Essential Phone, have you already updated your device with the February 2018 security patch?
