ZTE Blade X Max is a new Android 7.1.1 phablet for Cricket Wireless

After launching the MAX XL on Boost Mobile last month, ZTE is releasing another Android phablet on a different prepaid carrier this month.

The ZTE Blade X Max is launching at Cricket Wireless tomorrow, May 12. Pricing will be set at $149.99, but if you port your number to Cricket, that price will be knocked down to $99.

ZTE has equipped its Blade X Max with a 6-inch 1920×1080 display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor. There’s 32GB of built-in storage and a microSD slot if you’d like to add more, 3GB of RAM, and a rear fingerprint reader. Powering the whole package is a 3400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 2.0 and is recharged over USB-C.

The ZTE Blade X Max comes preloaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. There aren’t many other phones on the market running that version of Android, especially when it comes to affordable devices, so it’s nice to see ZTE putting such a recent Android release on the Blade X Max.

If ZTE’s Blade X Max has piqued your interest, you can snag one from a Cricket store or the operator’s online shop tomorrow.
