Google's new Chromecast will come with second screen rendering for Android gaming

During Google's event this morning, the company announces two new Chromecast devices. One is an improved version of the current Chromecast, complete with a new spherical design. The other is an audio version of Chromecast for speakers, which is admittedly pretty neat in itself.

One of the more interesting features for the new Chromecast was the second screen rendering the was briefly touched upon during the presentation. What this is, is basically using your phone to render the game you want to play, but having it appear on your HDTV via Chromecast. This also allows for you to more easily use your phone as a controller (or as a normal remote). If your current Android phone has some high-end hardware in it, then games should run and look much better since it will be your phone doing the heavy lifting when it comes to rendering it on your TV.

Another good improvement with the new Chromecast is that it now supports dual-band WiFi. With the new Antenna setup inside, the new Chromecast will automatically switch to whatever WiFi connection/band is the best to use at that particular time in your house.

The new Chromecast is available starting today and will remain at the regular $35 price as well. However, you can now get it in two additional colors besides black: Lemonade (Yellow) and Coral (Red).
