Reported Samsung Galaxy S6 metal shell makes appearance

John Hoff

We were just privy to some leaked schematics recently, purportedly from Samsung’s soon-to-be-released new flagship – the Galaxy S6. Imagine that these schematics suddenly turn themselves into the real thing. Well, part of the real thing, as a leak of the Galaxy S6’s metal shell suddenly shows up in the wild. And we got the goods.

So what do we really have here? A metal aluminum shell with slightly curved sides, an opening for a micro-USB port, a headphone jack, a microphone and speaker on the bottom edge. The metal shell also shows a large central window on the back of the shell where we think the camera module will be. Given all the details, this has a strong possibility of being the real thing.

The launch is rumored to be on March 1 at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Specs should be very nice indeed, including a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 4K resolution (2560x1440). We also (kinda) know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be carrying an Exynos processor rather than the Snapdragon 810 – Qualcomm’s newest baby still plagued with performance and overheating issues.

Here are more images of the metal shell. It looks good, honestly speaking. Tell us what you think of it in the comments section.
