[Updated] OverVolt is an upcoming slot car racing game arriving at the end of this month

OverVolt is a fairly successful slot car racing game on Window Phone right now and the developers have been working on porting it over to Android since its release. Now it is close to being finished and is planned for release onto Google Play by the end of November.

Update: November 26th, 2014 6:44am PST: Just a quick update to let those of you interested in playing this game that it will officially launch onto Google Play on December 3rd, 2014. We will post an additional update once it is released.

As you are probably guessing from the type of game this is, OverVolt has players taking control of a slot car, racing it on various tracks throughout the game. Racing happen on different two car slot tracks so races are more of a head-to-head style. Visually the art in this game features a more cel shaded type of look to it.

During each race you and your opponent have different power-ups that you can use to hinder each other with. These power-ups are purchased ahead of each race so you do have to be a little strategic in which ones you pick for each race. There are also a variety of cars to choose from, each with their own stats. Car customization is also available which allows you to change the look of your car. While you can certainly race against AI opponents, online racing against friends is also available.

OverVolt will be arriving sometime by the end of this month although we do not have an exact release date as of yet. Until then though you can check out the game in action in the trailer below. We will post an update once this game hits Google Play.
