WiFi Connection Manager Given Massive Overhaul with New Algorithm

One month ago, we talked about an innovative battery-saving app by XDA Recognized Developer bartito called WiFi Connection Manager. For those who don’t remember, this app worked by disabling WiFi when out of range and setting a predefined interval between WiFi network checks. This allows you to keep WiFi enabled when out and about, without having to worry about network search-related battery drain.

While the old version of WiFi Connection Manager worked very well, bartito that felt it could still be improved. As such, he has given it a substantial overhaul to version 2. So what’s new in version 2.0.55? Quite a bit, actually. For starters, the entire application has been rewritten. In addition, the connection algorithm has seen a major overhaul. While the previous version would only use WiFi network availability and the predefined interval to determine whether WiFi should be enabled, version 2 now also monitors which cell tower you are connected to and creates a statistical map for the possibility of establishing a WiFi connection based on your current location.
