Sega releases their Japanese hit Dragon Coins globally onto Android

Published on Thursday, 08 May 2014 13:53

Sega's current hit in Japan called Dragon Coins has now been released globally on Android for gamers located everywhere else. This new game is a monster collecting game but it doesn't fall into the TCG genre but instead uses a coin dropping mechanic for the combat. By coin dropping we mean those games that have a moving tray and the coins drop once they are pushed over the edge of the platform.

It seems like a bit of a strange mash-up but it seems to work. Players place coins on the tray which has a moving section. Eventually the coins pile up and push them off the ledge. These coins power up your current monster in use and the more coins that fall, the stronger the attack that is unleashed.

Dragon Coins Features:

• Arcade coin dozer fun
• 100’s of unique monsters to collect and battle
• Monster evolution and fusion
• Special monster powers
• Tons of missions and enemies to fight

A lot of the mechnics found in TCG titles are found in this game as well though. Evolving monsters as they get stronger, collecting new ones and so on are all present in Dragon Coins. There also happens to be a lot of monsters to collect so if you have OCD about collecting that sort of stuff like myself, you'll be doing that alone for hours.

For those of you interested in picking up Dragon Coins, it is now available globally on Android for free.
