Size showdown: Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 versus the competition

We’ve seen how the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 match up with each other and the competition in terms on specs, but is there a clear winner when it comes to size? The Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 both features larger displays than their predecessors, but that doesn’t necessarily have to translate into a larger footprint – or does it?

For fun, the list below also includes the new Huawei MediaPad X1 since the tablet comes with phone functionality and is being touted at the world’s smallest 7-inch tablet. Maybe 2014 will be the year that we see true phone/tablet crossover devices emerge as mainstream alternatives to the traditional smartphone.
