Koush teases Android mirroring to Chromecast with new video

Much to my surprise, it seems that quite a few people want to mirror the screen of their Android device to their Chromecast! Our dear readers pointed out quite a few uses for this capability, so I’m sold on it. But when is it coming? Unfortunately, we don’t know, but Koushik Dutta — better known by the community as Koush — has released another teaser for his Android mirroring functionality. And this time, it’s in video form.

In the clip, he mirrors his device’s display to his Chromecast, plays Flappy Bird (RIP) and opens Twitter. Obviously there is quite a bit of lag between the device and the Chromecast, which is expected, but it makes most games unplayable. However, there are plenty of other uses for this functionality, like streaming video from apps that don’t support it.

It’s awesome that this feature is coming, and we hope that it’s released soon. If it was added to the premium version of AllCast instead of being a separate app, that would be perfect. What do you guys think of the current implementation of full screen mirroring to Chromecast? Tell us in the comments if you’d use it!
