Google Shows Us What Devs Can Do with Android Wear Notifications

wearnotificationdemo

You may recall that just under a week ago, Google gave us some pointers on how to easily add rich Android Wear notifications into new and existing applications. Thanks to quite a lot of example code, as well as API similarities to those already present in traditional Android, Google’s made it easy for third party developers to make great apps that take advantage of Wear’s possibilities.

Rather than staying content with giving app developers great tools and showing us how to use them, Google also wants to help our creative juices flow by providing us with great examples of Android Wear notifications in action. These examples, which can be seen in the image to your right, demonstrate Wear’s ability to display traditional notifications from apps like Calendar and Nest, as well as offer playback information and control for media player apps.

You can view the entire post by heading over to the Android Developers Google+ page. Also, don’t forget to head over to our Android Wear forums to share your ideas and works in progress. Do you have any app ideas involving wear and rich notifications, or are there any types of apps you’d like to see on Wear? If so, let us know in the comments below!
