Project Fi Moto X4 orders delayed by 1-2 weeks
Back in August, Motorola (owned by Lenovo) unveiled the Moto X4, a mid-range handset that continues the long-running X series of smartphones. But rumors popped up far earlier that pegged the Moto X4 as destined for Project Fi, and in September, it was revealed that there would indeed be an Android One Moto X4 offered on Project Fi. At $399, the Moto X4 is significantly cheaper than the high-end Pixel devices on Project Fi, and as such, it attracted quite a few pre-orders. Unfortunately, it looks like a delay is in store for those folks who pulled the trigger.
Project Fi has begun emailing those who pre-ordered with the announcement that a production delay has pushed back the estimated ship date to October 18-25. This new estimate is roughly 1-2 weeks past the original estimated ship date. Google is promising that users who plan to trade in their old phone will still have a full 30 days to send in their old phone after they receive their Moto X4.
This news is disappointing, but it should be resolved in a relatively short amount of time. Did you pre-order an Android One Moto X4? What are your thoughts on the delay?
