AT&T adds new Canada and Mexico roaming features on select plans

With the summer months right around the corner, AT&T is tweaking a few of its rate plans to add a few more roaming benefits for the folks that might find their way to Canada or Mexico.

Beginning on May 20, AT&T has confirmed that subscribers signed up for a 15GB Mobile Share Value Plan or higher can use their data plan as they normally would in Mexico, without having to fret about any international charges tacked on. They will also get unlimited calling and texting while they visit Mexico, or sending messages or calling those that might be visiting there from the United States.

For AT&T Unlimited Plan subscribers, you won’t get any roaming charges at all in Mexico or Canada. However, for the folks that fall under the Unlimited Plan, you’ll need to add a feature to your plan to take advantage of no roaming charges: AT&T Roam North America for smartphones and AT&T Roam North America Data for tablets.

If you’re doing any traveling this summer, is Canada or Mexico the destination?
