Spacetime Studios brings three former pro League of Legends players on board as consultants for new MOBA Call of Champions

We have been following the development of Spacetime Studios' upcoming new MOBA title for Android called Call of Champions since it was first announced before GDC 2015. We have even had some hands-on time with it and even in an Alpha stage it was pretty fun. Well it seems that Spacetime Studios really wants this title to scratch that MOBA itch you may have with a solid game and so they have brought on board three former pro League of Legends players as consultants for the development of Call of Champions.

For those of you who missed our previous coverage about this game, Call of Champions is a new MOBA title from Spacetime Studios which features no minions, a unique Ball of Death that gets pushed around the maps, and a pretty intense 5 minute time limit for matches. When the game launches there will be 20 heroes available, with an additional 20 arriving shortly after launch. There is also a unique 'bump' feature where the heroes actually have mass, meaning when two characters run into each other, they can essentially 'shove' one another. This can lead to some pretty interesting situations not normally found in a MOBA title.

Outside of the actual gameplay, there is already a built-in spectator mode so people can watch matches as well as the ability to rewinds, fast forward, zoom in and out, and do other actions which essentially makes this perfect for broadcasting and commentating. This is a really basic rundown of the game and if you want more details, you definitely need to check out our hands-on with Call of Champions.

So who are the former pro players who have been brought on board? Well you more than likely know these players from their screen names more than their real names. Spacetime Studios has brought on James “PhantomL0rd” Varga, Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani and Stephen “Snoopeh” Ellis as consultants. All three of these guys will also be a part of the Call of Champions Alpha testing which beings this month and will include 'an elite audience of competitive gamers and innovators'.

[These] pro gamers will be bringing their knowledge and extensive experience in the competitive MOBA space to assist building and refining Call of Champions’ streamlined traditional mechanics which encourage fast and strategic matches.
