R Padla

There are a lot of HTC exclusive apps available but they don't always come to the Google Play Store immediately. The HTC Video Player has been ready for some time but it's only now the HTC app has been added to Google Play. Officially called as the 'HTC Service — Video Player' app, this one allows the phone to play streaming video and local files, thanks to a special decoding power.

The app features some "powerful decoding capabilities", as well as, gesture controls, screenshots, support for different formats, and trimming of video clips. With the gesture controls you can swipe two fingers side-to-side to either rewind or fast-forward. To share media with friends, use three fingers to swipe across the screen.

The app also allows capturing of still images from a video. The screenshots you can save on your photo gallery for later viewing. To reduce file size of videos, you can trim video clips without the quality being compromised. You can also adjust speed of slow motion videos but depending on the phone model only.

With the HTC Service — Video Player, many popular video formats are supported. Subtitles and streaming are also supported to make watching videos more convenient right on your HTC smartphone. Note that this app is an HTC exclusive only. Other apps developed by HTC Corporation are also available on the Google Play Store.
