HTC ‘Hima’ tipped as next flagship, alleged spec details surface

If you want to give the Snapdragon 810 processor a go but you don’t want to shell out nearly $1,000 for one of Qualcomm’s reference devices, then you may want to look toward HTC’s next flagship phone.

A new leak claims that HTC’s upcoming flagship phone — which is reportedly codenamed “Hima,” not “(M9)” — will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with four 2GHz cores and four 1.5GHz cores. The Hima is also rumored to include a 5-inch 1920×1080 screen, 20.7-megapixel rear camera, either a 13-megapixel or UltraPixel 4-megapixel front camera, a 2840mAh battery and Android 5.0 running beneath HTC’s Sense 7 user interface.

As far as a launch goes, we’re told that the HTC Hima could debut in March 2015, which would be one year after the HTC One (M8)’s announcement. The Hima is currently undergoing carrier testing, today’s leak claims, and it will allegedly launch on all major U.S. carriers.

While many recent flagship phones have come to market with super high-res 2560×1440 displays, the inclusion of a 1920×1080 screen could help give HTC’s next flagship some nice battery life, especially if the Snapdragon 810 is as easy on battery life as Qualcomm touts it to be.

What features would you like to see included in HTC’s next flagship smartphone?
