Google introduces Game of the Year, testing your knowledge on 2018′s search trends

The Year in Search 2018 is now out, and Google is celebrating its release with a game. Called Game of the Year, it tests you on your knowledge of the biggest search terms of 2018.

Not only is it a fun little game, it’s also a demonstration of Google’s tech. The “host” of the game was built with Google Cloud and WaveNet (Google’s text-to-speech technology). It can say the name you entered, and it did a good job pronouncing my name.

It’s a short term distraction, but it’s fun and you should give it a shot. Or a few, it’s different every time. You can also invite your friends to try it and compare scores. And if you’re like me, you’ll find out you’re no longer “with it.” When did we get old?
