Google Fit update brings home screen widgets and other improvements

Google Maps isn’t the only Google app getting updated today, as Google Fit is also getting improved.

Google today announced an update to Google Fit that’s bringing with it some new features. That includes new Google Fit widgets that you can place on your home screen and use to quickly check your Heart Points, Move Minutes, and other daily stats.

Google is also making it so that the Google Fit home screen will show your last workout. And when you’re manually logging a workout in your journal, you’ll now have the option to adjust your activity intensity and get awarded more accurate Heart Points for it. Finally, Wear OS users will be able to use Google Fit on their watch to get guided breathing exercises.

These updated features are rolling out this week. That’s great timing, because many folks use the new year to make a resolution to get in better shape, and these new Google Fit features can help with that. If you’ve never tried Google Fit, you can grab it from the Play Store right here.
