Samsung One UI beta available for U.S. unlocked Galaxy Note 9 users

Alongside its foldable smartphone, Samsung recently revealed One UI, its simplified software skin. Shortly thereafter, Samsung opened up the One UI beta to Galaxy S9 and S9+ owners in a variety of regions. But in a surprising move, Samsung has made the One UI beta available for unlocked Galaxy Note 9 owners in the U.S. It’s not clear if every unlocked Note 9 user in the U.S. is receiving access to the beta, but multiple XDA members have confirmed they’re receiving it, so it could be the start of a wider rollout.

If you own an unlocked Note 9 in the U.S., you can grab the latest APK for the Samsung+ app and then you should start seeing a prompt in the app to be a beta tester for One UI. While you can sign up for the beta now, there aren’t any reports of users actually receiving the update yet, so we’ll see what happens.

One UI is built off of Android 9.0 Pie and features a system-wide dark theme. It also makes devices easier to use with one hand, helpful for large devices and foldables. The official update should start rolling out to the S9 and Note 9 lines in January 2019.
