LG V40 ThinQ announced with five total cameras, 6.4-inch OLED display

October is shaping up to be chock full of new Android flagships, and today it was LG’s turn to show us what it’s got.

The LG V40 ThinQ is now official, and just as expected, it come equipped with five total cameras. There are three cameras around back and two more cameras packed into the notch on the front of the phone. The back of the V40 ThinQ is home to a 16MP 107-degree super wide angle lens with f/1.9 aperture, a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture, and a 12MP standard lens with f/1.5 aperture.

LG touts that that 12MP standard sensor offers several improvements over last year’s LG V30. Those include a 40 percent larger pixel size (1.4um), but also an 18 percent larger image sensor. The Dual Phase Detection Autofocus enables automatic focusing that’s 50 percent faster, and the f/1.5 aperture allows the LG V40 ThinQ to have greater depth of field, half the shutter lag, and a “significantly faster” burst mode.

Around front, the LG V40 ThinQ has an 8MP standard sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 80-degree field of view as well as a 5MP wide angle camera with a 90-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture.

LG says that it’s bundled several software features into the V40 ThinQ to help you utilize all those cameras. Triple Shot stitches together images captured with the three rear cameras into a short video file, and Cine Shot helps you create a cinemagraph, which is an image with animation. There are also AI features like AI Auto White Balance that’ll automatically adjust color temperature across different lighting conditions as well as features like 3D Light Effect, Custom Backdrop, and AR Emoji.

Like V series phones that came before it, the LG V40 ThinQ also places a focus on audio performance. LG has equipped its new phone with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC as well as Boombox Speaker, a feature that utilizes the internal space of the phone to double the bass output of other smartphones. LG has included DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, too, and unlike some other flagships out there, the V40 ThinQ has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The LG V40 ThinQ boasts a 6.4-inch 3120×1440 OLED screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a notch. There’s a Snapdragon 845 processor inside its body along with 6GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, and either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage. A 3300mAh battery powers the phone, when it comes time to recharge, you can use Quick Charge 3.0 via a wired connection or you can opt for wireless charging. LG has also included face recognition and a rear fingerprint reader for added security.

The design of the V40 ThinQ is something that LG is proud of, with the company touting its “Silky Blast” process. This process eached microscopic pits into the tempered glass back of the LG V40 ThinQ that is said to give it a smoother matte finish that won’t be slipper. The body of the LG V40 ThinQ is also IP68 water resistance and meets the U.S. Department of Defense requirements for durability, passing 14 MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test categories.

In the U.S., the LG V40 ThinQ will launch on October 19th. Most U.S. carriers will begin taking pre-orders on October 12th, so if you want to guarantee yourself this Android 8.1-powered phone on launch day, you’ll have that chance. Here are the pricing details announced by the major U.S. carriers so far:

• AT&T: $31.67 per month for 30 months
• Sprint: $20 per month on an 18-month lease after a $20 monthly credit
• T-Mobile: $200 down and $30 per month for 24 months
• U.S. Cellular: $29.99 per month for 30 months
• Verizon: $40.83 per month for 24 months
