Google introduces the new Home Hub with display

Google has announced the Google Home Hub, the latest addition to the Home lineup. Much like the Amazon Echo Show, the Hub features a large display in addition to the standard Google Home features.

The device’s display will allow you to do things like view recipes, watch YouTube, view your Nest Ring doorbell when it rings, and much more. The display will adjust via Ambient EQ, which will both adjust brightness and warmth depending on the time of day

It also features the new Home View: when you swipe down, it’ll show all of your smart home devices and their status. Rather than move between multiple apps, you can see your entire home in one place. This feature is also coming to the Google Home phone app!

Other features include Live albums, which will display photos from people you choose automatically. It will add photos on the go and will filter out blurry or underexposed shots. There’s also downtime mode to get away from technology.

The device will be available for pre-order today for $149 and will become available at retail stores on October 22. You’ll also get 6 months of YouTube Premium for free. Who’s picking one up?

Update: The link is now live! You can pick the device up in four colors.
