BlackBerry KEY2 LE pre-orders begin in the U.S.
The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is launching in the U.S. later this month, but you can guarantee one for yourself right now.
Amazon has begun taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry KEY2 LE. The keyboard-clad smartphone comes unlocked and works on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the U.S. It’s available in two color options, Slate and Champagne, with the former shipping on October 12th and the latter on November 2nd.
While it’s not quite as high-end as the standard KEY2, the KEY2 LE does retain the most important feature of its sibling: the physical keyboard. There’s a fingerprint reader built into the space bar of this keyboard, and there’s also a Speed Key that’ll give you access to your programmable keyboard shortcuts anywhere in the phone, meaning you don’t need to go to your home screen to access them.
Other features of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE include a 4.5-inch 1620×1080 LCD screen, Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 3000mAh battery. The KEY2 LE comes with 64GB of built-in storage, but it’s also packing a microSD card slot if you’d like to add more storage. There’s a dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 5MP sensors, and around front there’s an 8MP sensor for your selfie needs.
On the software side, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE comes equipped with Android 8.1 Oreo with some added BlackBerry features, including DTEK for added security and BlackBerry Privacy Shade to keep the contents of your screen hidden from snooping eyes.
