Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K includes HDR, Dolby Atmos, and improved remote

Days after introducing the new Fire TV Recast, Amazon has taken the wraps off of another new Fire TV product.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is an upgraded Fire TV Stick that can play 4K Ultra HD video. Amazon says that it “invented an entirely new antenna technology” and combined it with an 802.11ac Wi-Fi chip to optimize for the best 4K UHD streaming experience. There’s HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for improved video quality, too, as well as Dolby Atmos Audio.

Other notable upgrades of the new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K include a new quad-core 1.7GHz processor for faster load times and a quicker streaming experience and Bluetooth 5.0 + LE. There’s 8GB of storage built into the device.

Included with the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is Amazon’s new Alexa Voice Remote. The updated remote includes dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons that you can use to control your TV, sound bar, and A/V receivier. And as before, you can use Alexa on the remote to search for and launch content, control smart home devices, and more.

The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is now available for pre-order ahead of its October 31st launch. You can also pre-order the new Alexa Voice Remote separately, which is compatible with the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV (3rd Gen, Pendant Design).

Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick 4K looks like a solid upgrade over the previous model. The addition of features like 4K Ultra HD, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos will offer a much improved viewing experience over the previous Fire TV Stick. And it comes with a new Alexa Voice Remote that’ll let you easily control you TV, sound bar, or receiver’s volume with the same remote that you’re controlling your Fire TV Stick with.

Are you going to pre-order a new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K?
