Samsung Galaxy S10 may come in four variants, including a 5G model

Rumors have it that Samsung is going to launch a lot of Galaxy S10 models early next year, and the latest paints a picture where there might be four to choose from.

According to a report from XDA-Developers, Samsung is indeed planning on multiple variants for the flagship Galaxy S10 next year, with the primary differentiator being the cameras on the back. That’s echoed in this report as well, with one major difference.

According to the report’s investigation of Android 9.0 Pie update for the Galaxy S9+, it looks like there will be a Galaxy S10 with a 5.8-inch display, a fingerprint reader on the side, and a single camera on the back. A Galaxy S10 with the same fingerprint reader setup as the previous model, the same 5.8-inch display, but with a pair of cameras on the back. And then there will be a Galaxy S10+ that will boast a 6.44-inch display, three cameras on the back, and a pair of front-facing cameras.

And it looks like Samsung has, at the very least, developed software for one other model: A Galaxy S10+ variant that will have the same hardware features as mentioned above, but with 5G support baked in. That likely means it will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem inside, but could also use Samsung’s Exynos 5100.

It’s possible that Samsung doesn’t launch all of these variants. Or, maybe even more likely, that we see the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10+ launch after the initial trio. Either way, we’re more than likely seeing quite a few different Galaxy S10 options next year.
