OnePlus 6T will feature an in-display fingerprint reader
OnePlus has another high-end smartphone on the way, and while it’s not officially official just yet, that isn’t stopping the company from confirming a few of its features.
CNET is reporting that OnePlus has confirmed that its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus 6T, will boast an in-display fingerprint reader. According to OnePlus, “Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action” when it comes to unlocking our smartphones, which we all do multiple times a day. But while the in-display fingerprint reader will be on board, the company is also including other options, including Face Unlock, so owners don’t have to rely on just one unlock method.
We actually saw that the OnePlus 6T would boast this feature earlier this month thanks to a few images of the leaked packaging for the handset. And while the phone isn’t official just yet, this is at least a confirmation of one major feature to look forward to when the OP6T does get its unveiling later this year.
The rumor mill has also suggested the OnePlus 6T will be OnePlus’s first major U.S.-based carrier partnership, seeing the handset launch on T-Mobile’s network in the near future. That will mark a huge milestone for OnePlus if that is indeed the case.
If you bought the OnePlus 6 earlier this year, are you already looking forward to the OnePlus 6T?
