Google changes Keep app name to ‘Keep Notes’

Google launched note-taking app “Keep” back in 2013, and the company has been updating the app to make it one of the more worthwhile options on Android ever since. But the app’s biggest change to date is happening right now.

As was first discovered by Android Police, Google has apparently decided to change the note-keeping app’s name, switching things up from Keep to the new “Keep Notes”. As for why Google has decided to change the name’s app seemingly out of the blue, that’s a bit of a mystery. Nothing in the app has changed, so the features that users expect to find within are still there, at least.

The web version of the app still says “Google Keep”, so maybe this change to the Android app is a precursor for what’s to come with the other apps. Or maybe we’ll see the standard Keep name make a return before too long.

If this name change is here to stay, what do you think?
