Google Calendar updated with new Material Design UI

Google has been working to update its Android apps to reflect its newest Material Design UI, with both the Calculator app and Contacts app getting the new design earlier this year. And now it looks like Google Calendar is next up.

The Google Calendar app has been updated to version 6.0, and with it, Google is adding the new Material UI design. That means there is even more white than there was before and there is the new “+” symbol on the bottom right for actions within the app. The gray highlights within the app are now gone, and fonts and icons have been tweaked as well.

There aren’t any additional features added to the mix, and the general layout of the app is the same from the previous version. The new app is available now.

How are you liking the new Material UI design with the first-party apps?
